Ingredients:
500 g - whole wheat flour
500 g - minced mutton
1 cup - grated coconut, ground to a paste
1/2 cup - onion, finely sliced
1 tsp - chilli powder
1 tsp - coriander powder
1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
1 tsp - garam masala powder
2 tbsp - ghee or oil
2 tbsp - ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp - ghee
coriander leaves to garnish
lime juice to taste
salt to taste
Method
- Mix wheat flour with 1/2 the coconut paste, salt and 1 Tbsp of ghee.
- Add enough water and bind into firm dough.
- Shape the dough into oblong muthias, like mini sausages.
- Combine all the powders with remaining coconut paste.
- Heat the ghee or oil and fry onions till golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and fry till fragrant. Add the coconut paste and fry well.
- Add the minced mutton and fry till brown. Add salt and 4 cups of water.
- When the mixture begins to boil, add the muthias.
- Cover and simmer gently till the mutton and muthias are cooked. (about 40 minutes).
- Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
